Associate Professor  Graciela Corral De Zubielqui

Founder and Leader

Innovation Management

Graciela is the founder of Innovanium, and has worked in diverse roles in private companies (food, machinery, port services), high education sectors and as a SME consultant. She holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours), a Master's in Business Administration, and a PhD in Business and Management.

 

Graciela has instigated and led significant projects on open innovation, capability development for innovation, (traditional and digital) knowledge transfer for innovation activities, business resilience and impact of COVID-19, and the impact of innovation on financial and non-financial measures of performance. 

Prof Hussain Rammal

Global Service Innovation

Hussain is an experienced business academic and management consultant with expertise in International Business related issues. He has published a multitude of books, research reports, and academic and professional articles in the areas of Internationalization of firms, cross-border business negotiations, and trade in services.

He has also appeared on several television and radio shows, and has been interviewed for many articles published in newspapers and professional magazines.

Associate Prof Carmen Reaiche

Innovation Capabilities

Carmen Reaiche is an Associate Professor of Project Management, and is also the MBA Academic Director at James Cook University. She held senior roles at the University of Adelaide including Head of Teaching and Learning with a extensive history of working within the higher education industry. Carmen offers expert advice in Project Management, Soft System Methodology, E-Learning, Data Analysis, Research Design, Lecturing, and Public Speaking.

Carmen is an accomplished management professional with a Bachelor of Business Administration, an MBA and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of South Australia.

Professor Stephen Boyle

PROFESSOR STEPHEN BOYLE

Innovation Capabilities

Professor Stephen Boyle is the Dean of the College of Business, Law and Governance at James Cook University. He holds an MBA and a PhD in Cultural Economics. He examined the economics of symphony orchestras in Australia. Professor Stephen Boyle won best paper in the Economic Papers journal in 2012 for his work on productivity analysis of symphony orchestras.

 

His research and consulting are in cultural policy, arts management, innovative arts business models and the creative economy. He chaired the 41st International Conference on Social Theory, Politics and the Arts and is an Executive Editor of the Journal of Arts Management, Law and Society. He is an Adjunct Researcher at the Culture and Leisure Industry Research Centre at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing, China. Professor Boyle is also a Director of the Townsville Chamber of Commerce and President of the Barrier Reef Orchestra.

Dr Valerie Caines a consummate HR professional and academic. Her research focus is on answering applied research questions which contribute to evidence-based HR and management interventions. Drawing on the latest research, Valerie's teaching integrates her work as a practitioner and applied researcher to prepare the next generation of business leaders and entrepreneurs.

 

Additionally, she partners with organisations across all sectors to design successful organisations coupled with managing significant change and planning for the future using evidenced-based methods.

Associate Professor Taha Chaiechi

Associate Professor Dr. Taha Chaiechi is a seasoned academic leader and researcher, bringing a wealth of industry perspective to her work. Beyond her academic contributions, Taha has served as a detailed assessor for prestigious programs such as the National Intelligence and Security Discovery Research Grants (NISDRG) program, Future Fellowship Programs, and the National Competitive Grants Program (NCGP) for the Australian Research Council (ARC). Taha specializes in systematic modeling of dynamic relationships between economic, environmental, and social variables, with a strong focus on quantifying and valuing environmental and social assets and services. Her research is motivated by climate change, economic resilience, and systems interruptions. Drawing upon her expertise, Taha is capable of providing valuable advice on business continuity and enhancing economic resilience for both the public and private sectors. Additionally, Taha possesses significant expertise in the provision of specialized training tailored for decision-makers and policy-makers.

Richard McGregor

RICHARD McGREGOR

Trends in Innovation

Richard McGregor is a PhD in Residence with The Firemark Collective, a wholly owned 'think tank' of Insurance Australian Group (IAG) where he researches personal cyber insurance. This follows an extensive career as a business analyst, business architect and business designer across a multitude of industries during which he has earnt a Batchelor of Arts (Hons), an MBA and a Masters of Cyber Security Operations from the Australian Defence Force Academy (UNSW Canberra). This background has invested Richard with invaluable skill-sets including business / commercial analysis, business architecture, process improvement, change management, project and vendor management amongst a plethora of other similar experiences, allows him to distil the noise into the thing that really matters. Innovation and value.

Assistant Professor Gareth Thomas

Gareth Thomas is an Assistant Professor at Bond University in Queensland, Australia. Gareth has an extensive array of academic credentials including a Bachelor of Science from Queen Mary University of London, an Master of Arts from Osaka City University in Japan, an MBA, Graduate Diploma in Research Studies and an PhD from Griffith University.

Dr Peter Guckenbiehl

Innovation in Start-ups

Dr Peter Guckenbiehl is currently the Managing Director of Science and Innovation Alliance Kaiserslautern e.V., located in Germany, a network of universities, research institutes and innovative businesses. Peter gained experience in different roles in the innovation space: as a project manager for a start-up hub, in an educational role for the University of Adelaide, and as a researcher in his PhD thesis, titled “Investigating Knowledge and Business Model Innovation for Start-up Success”. Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Arts, a Master of Management, and a PhD in Management. In his current role, Peter works on speeding up transfer of innovation from science to industry via intense knowledge exchange and transfer as well as joint publicly funded interdisciplinary innovation projects and on developing joint communication and marketing strategies aimed at increasing national and international visibility.
